Saina Nehwal was born on March 17, 1990, an Indian professional badminton singles player. Former world no. 1, Nehwal, has won more than 20 international titles, including the titles of ten superheroes.

Nehwal has achieved many milestones in Badminton for India; she is the only Indian who has won at least one medal in each BWF major individual event, the first Indian badminton player to win the Olympic medal, as well as win the BWF World Junior Championships. Or are the only Indian to reach the finals of the BWF World Championship.


Saina first entered the 2017 tournament with Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold title. Won the 12th place in the World Badminton Championships in Glasgow, in August, Saina clinched the title in the reservoir by defeating Scotland's world number 31 Christie Gilmour 21-19, 18-21, 21-15 in the semi-finals. Finally, Japan's winner Nozomi Okhura won her a bronze medal. It is the second consecutive medal in Saina's world badminton championship and the record for the seventh consecutive quarter-final.
